Application
This equipment is suitable for processes such as atmospheric pressure, pressurized water decoction, warm soaking, hot reflux, forced circulation, percolation, aromatic oil extraction, and organic solvent recovery in industries such as traditional Chinese medicine, plants, animals, food, and chemical engineering. The use of dynamic extraction or countercurrent extraction yields better results with shorter time and higher drug content.
Working principle
Solvent is added into the extraction tank. After soaking , solvent will be heated throughsteam in the jacket. Medicine liquid will boil in the tank. According to different boiling points of solvent , low boiling point components start to first boil into secondary steam, then through condensation, cooling to oil and water separate. Reflux or discharge can be determined according to process conditions. The oil-water separator uses the different density of oil and water to carry on the upper and lower layers, so as to obtain the volatile oil. In addition, due to a difference in the concentration of medicine liquid in the upper, middle and lower parts of the main tank in the heating process, it can make medicine liquid from the bottom of the main tank through the filter and pump back to the upper part of the main tank for circulation, to achieve dynamic extraction.
This equipment is suitable for percolation operations in industries such as traditional Chinese medicine, plants, animals, food, and chemicals. Except for non organic medicinal herbs such as frankincense, rosin, and aloe vera, which soften into clumps when exposed to solvents and block the pores, making it difficult for solvents to pass evenly through the herbs, percolation is not suitable. Other medicinal herbs can be soaked using this method.
Percolation is a method of extraction in which the extractant is continuously added to the crude drug powder, allowing it to percolate the powder and flow out from the lower outlet as the extract. During percolation, the extractant penetrates into the cells of the drug, dissolving large amount of soluble substances, increasing in concentration and density, and then moving downward. The upper layer of the extractant or dilute extract exchange its place, a good concentration gradient, which allows for better natural diffusion. Therefore, the extraction effect is better than that of maceration, and it is also safer to use
